The Wing Aviation Scholarship Fund was established to help the local community in two ways: First, the scholarship fund program recognizes and aids deserving students in the Houston and surrounding areas who are eligible for the awards based on need and academic achievement by providing assistance with technical school expenses. Second, the scholarship fund program provides an opportunity for an internship with Wing Aviation LLC, a gateway to the world of aviation and all aspects of the aviation industry, from accounting to mechanical technicians.

Eligibility

Those eligible to apply are technical students of The Aviation Institute of Maintenance.

Awards

The Fund intends to award at least two $2,500-$5,000 scholarships per academic year. These awards are based on financial need and academic credentials. The scholarship will be applied to tuition expenses at The Aviation Institute of Maintenance.

Selections

The selection committee of the Fund will award an applicant the scholarship. In selecting the approved applicant, the Executive Board evaluates the applicants’ academic records, test scores, extracurricular activities, financial status, and recommendations. All applicants are notified of the awarded scholarship by August 1, and December 1.

Responsibilities of Recipients

Scholarship recipients must enroll as at least a half-time student in the semester in which the scholarships are awarded and continue in school for the entire academic semester without interruption--barring illness, emergency, or military service. Scholarship recipients are responsible for making certain that their scholarship checks are delivered to their colleges or schools.

Payment of Funds

Checks will be mailed to and payable to The Aviation Institute of Maintenance for credit to the recipients’ tuition.
